2007 Sunset MTB Race Series!!!

Super happy to announce that I am again partnered up with my friend Gino Lisiecki to offer the Spokane area Mountain Bike Racers the 3rd Annual Sunset Series. And with a new title sponsor. We are now officially known as the "Steamplant Grill Sunset MTB Race Series." Happy to have them on board and thank you Gage! More info to come, but most of what you need to know is in the flyer below!

Holy Smokes time flies!

If I actually sat down to write every time I thought about it....this thing would be huge! Been very busy since the beginning of the year. Gearing up for the upcoming race season. I have already pulled off my first 2 races of the year. The past 2 weekends. One was Langlauf, which is a very big citizens XC Ski Race at Mt Spokane and the other in the same place was a Junior Olympic Qualifier. Both were big successes from the timing aspect.

The boys continue to grow. Noah is getting tall, and has been skiing alot with me this year. He is doing really well. So well that I really have to keep an eye on him so I don't lose him. There is no stopping for him once he gets off the chair until he is at the bottom and ready to ride back up!

And never a dull moment with the twins! In the last 2 days they have had me scrambling as they have learned how to escape from their cribs. Unfortunately it's a good drop before they hit the floor. I hear a loud "clunk" followed by crying. Luckily no more injuries than a few bruises. So I have scrambled to make temporary arrangments to keep them safe while I figure out a more permanent solution. From what I have read on the "net" today, it is time they graduate from the cribs to twin mattresses on the floor.

At any rate, that's where I am at, and where I am to bed! Goodnight!

Powder Farming

Ok, so I have written about life with the boys, but some of you may be wondering why the title of my site here "powderfarmer," Here's why. The boys are my first passion, this is my second. These are pics from Mar '06. Spent a week in Salt Lake and managed to get in a bluebird "faceshot" day at Snowbird. It was spectacular.

Santa's coming!!!!

And the boys got to see him Friday Night. It was very cute. Noah pretty much just wanted to get across to Santa what he was hoping to find under the tree Christmas morning, and then get his candy cane and move on, Drew was not sure what was going on, and Zach was enamored with him! After they were done with the pictures, they were getting their coats back on and while I was getting Drew back into the stroller, Zach ran back over to Santa, yelled his name out (which comes out like Naa Naa) and through his arms up. And Santa readily reached down and pulled him up into his lap and spent a another minute or so with him. It was very cute.

Tis the season!

It's that time of year. If the holiday lights and decorations didn't give it away, there are 3 commercials that should make it unmistakable as to what time of year it is. The Ove Glove, the Clapper and Chia Pet. Apparently products only worthy of being purchased in the month of December as they are not advertised any other time of the year!

Despite my best intentions of keeping this up to date, I have already missed the boat and this is only my second post! Such is life....busy as hell and no signs of slowing down any time soon!

We all made it through the Thanksgiving weekend. All three boys were sick. With Zach being the most sick and spending 2 days in the hospital. A mild case of pneumonia and dehydration. He was released to go home Thanksgiving morning to join his brothers who were feeling a little under the weather too. Ironically, having the 3 boys sick allowed to me to have the most relaxing Thanksgiving I think I have ever had. Nickie spent the day with us and we made a small meal and for the most part just spen the day on the couch. We missed our families but it was a nice change of pace. All boys are back to normal now.....getting into the usual mischief and plotting to drive Dad crazy!

The boys spent the remainder of the weekend at Nickie's place and I headed up to Mt Spokane where ski season opened with a bang! Unbelievable conditions for opening weekend. This year I have taken on the responsibility of helping train our newest ski patrollers. they have all completed the 3 month long EMT course and now it's my job to help them apply what they have learned in the classroom to the harsh, outdoor mountain environment. This years group is very smart, so I don't expect training will last very long before we are ready to cut them loose on the hill, on their own.

That's all for now. Have a great Holiday Season everyone!

1st ever blog post!

Hello. Welcome to my blog. This is a first for me. I graduated with a degree in journalism about 10 years ago and have done very little writing since then. So this is it. This is my attempt to get back at it. A way to let my friends and family keep up with my very busy life! I'm keeping this one short as I have a lot of work to do with this space to make it cool. To make it mine. Keep checking back as I will try to update as often as I can.
